How thanks to Gmail, Copy and Paste of Images is now broken in Firefox

Starting with Firefox 12, the COPY feature was changed so that Gmail users (and other webmail users) could paste images from the web into mail compose windows in the browser. The end result is that when you now right-click on an image in Firefox and then try to paste it in, for example, MS Word, the image url is pasted instead of the actual image.

This is incredibly annoying as it breaks the workflow of a lot of people who depend on that function. There are workarounds, but as someone wrote on the Mozilla support site:

But why using workarounds again and again just because somebody decided to change the working "copy image" functionality in FF 12 and above ? Or in other words - what the heck are they smoking.

Instead of using annoying workarounds, I simply downgraded to Firefox 11 and I will continue to use it until the people at Firefox decide to fix Firefox.

PS: It's insane that they broke a good browser simply so a bunch of people who prefer to use a crappy email service like Gmail instead of a real email service could include images in their emails a little faster. Now thousands of people are using old browsers or cumbersome workarounds because the Firefox developers want to keep a bunch of leeches, who can't afford a proper email address, happy.
